Prof. Issa Y. Mwamzandi

Issa Mwamzandi is a Professor of Linguistics with a wealth of experience of over thirty years of teaching and research at university. He is currently the Director Research, Linkages and Extension at University of Kabianga (UoK). A position he has held since 2021. He has also served in various administrative positions such as Dean and Head of Department not only at UoK but also at Moi and Egerton Universities. At UoK, Prof. Mwamzandi is a certified Research to Commercialization Trainer of Trainers with KeNIA (2004) and qualified Science Technology Innovation professional with NACOSTI (2021). He is responsible for the day to day running of research activities in the Directorate of Research. This includes the implementation of the University’s Commercialization Master Plan that is expected to result into the commercialization of research output at UoK. He is also charged with the coordination of all R2C activities at UoK. This includes the coordination of R2C bootcamps, innovation challenges as well as the promotion of internal funding for emerging innovations within the Directorate. Prof. Mwamzandi is also the Focal Person that spearheads the linkage of innovators with industry. His passion is in harnessing, mentoring and managing youthful innovators in providing critical solutions for the betterment of humanity.
