Dr. Wesonga Robert, PhD.

Dr. Wesonga O. Robert is a scholar in Film and Literary Studies with extensive experience in teaching, research, publishing, and academic leadership. He holds a PhD in Film & Literary Studies (2017), a Master of Arts in Literature (2011), and a Bachelor of Education (Arts) (2004), all from Kenyatta University. His doctoral thesis examined the nexus between literary texts and film adaptations through intertextuality.

He is a Lecturer at the University of Kabianga, where he has also served in various administrative roles, including Head of the Department of Linguistics, Literature and Communication, Editor-in-Chief of the University Newsletter, and Examinations Coordinator. He is an Editorial Board Member of the African Journal for Arts and Education and has been engaged as a Contracted Professional at the Kenya National Examinations Council.

Dr. Wesonga has authored short stories, scholarly articles, and books. His creative works include Lord of Dollars (2022) and The Last Man Standing (2019), while his academic publications address film adaptations, postcolonial readings, political music, and cultural narratives. He has co-authored school textbooks in Creative and Performing Arts with Moran Publishers (2023–2025). His earlier book, Portrait of a Teenager in a Kenyan Television Drama: Tahidi High (2012), explores media and identity in Kenyan youth culture.
